In this video series, Dave Cross shows off some creative ways to use Photoshop and Illustrator together. In the first tutorial, Dave creates a dashed line around an image by turning a basic selection into a path in Photoshop, then taking the path into Illustrator to create the dashed line, and finally bringing it all back to Photoshop as a smart object that can be edited quickly and easily.
