On Location Photography: Edgy, Athletic Portrait

[tps_header]I rarely work in a studio; instead, I like photographing in the field, using the environment to my advantage. My backdrops are mountains, rivers, offices, and industrial warehouses, but sometimes the weather works against me. Recently, I had scheduled an outdoor shoot with a model, and then it started to snow; it didn’t stop until a foot of powder blanketed the location. Here was the scene outside my window—snow everywhere.

I decided then to shoot on black, which meant I could shoot anywhere; so, instead of canceling the shoot, we moved into my garage for the session.[/tps_header]
