Using Gels For Flash Photography – Combat Nighttime White Balance Problems with CTO & Stacking of Gels

Step Four:

Adding another 1/4 cut of CTO on the flash and pulling SJ off the background a bit solves the problem. Now we have some nice, warm tones in a night shot, and we have a gelled flash to the right, giving great skin tones on SJ. If you’re doing portraiture for night work, gels are invaluable.
