InDesign users who are just beginning to use Illustrator might find adding Spot Colors a little confusing. Unlike InDesign where you can add a Spot Color by going to the New Swatch Color under the Options menu of the Swatches palette, in Illustrator you need to open a whole Spot Color palette to add one or more Swatches. But where are these Spot Colors hidden?

You can access Spot Color Libraries in two places – under the Window menu > Swatch Libraries, and select the Swatch Library name to open the palette, or under the Options flyout menu of the Swatches palette > Open Swatch Library.
