New Social-Media Series: We #KelbyOneChallenge You!
Don’t miss out on this, OK? Quick back story: #KelbyOneChallenge started as a weekly ‘homework’ assignment on a couple of our social-media pages. The goal was to get us all learning, doing, sharing — and it worked. In fact, it really, really worked. The reaction was so great that it became really difficult and time-consuming to post them all to our designated picture album. To avoid doing that again, we opted to use a third-party app that we had used in the past for a photo contest.
So with this third-party app, had some big challenges based on functionality. From what we can tell, those challenges caused an error in the tracking of votes (UGH!!) so the vote was skewed. So we got our staff involved and had them pick their faves, and we came up with our FAVE FOUR! So first: We are sorry about the voting messing up. And second — REALLY GREAT SUBMISSIONS! So, thanks to everyone who was part of the sunset challenge!

CONTEST AMPED UP
Because of all the beginning um, challenges, with #KelbyOneChallenge, we tweaked the contest, amped it up a little — with the help of our awesomely talented book team and Scott Kelby, and we added a really cool prize package for those who participate in this 10-week photo challenge kicking off Monday, June 1st!
DETAILS
WHAT — The weekly #KelbyOneChallenge pulls a page from Scott Kelby’s “Digital Photography” Book Series and turns it into a challenge. We accept submissions via Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. BE SURE TO USE THE HASHTAG ON YOUR SUBMISSION —-> #KelbyOneChallenge
WHO — Open to both KelbyOne members and non-members.
WHEN — Starts Monday, 6/1 and runs for 10 weeks.
WEEKLY WINNERS Each photo challenge will accept submissions for 1 week unless otherwise stated. Each week, professional staff members and photographers will pick a winner from our approved entries. The winning image will be published in an upcoming issue of our award-winning “Photoshop User” magazine. And as an added bonus, the hosts of our photography talk show will announce the winner on our talk show, The Grid Live. The image will be seen by all viewers and then again will be on the YouTube channel for additional viewing and exposure of your work! We will also announce 3 runners up — because sometimes there’s just so much goodness and we really want to highlight and honor your work.
GRAND PRIZE WINNER — At the end of our 10-week challenge, our team along with Scott Kelby, will choose an overall winning image from the 10 challenges. The winner will receive a full-year KelbyOne membership along with other goodies that we will be announcing soon! Here’s our schedule. Got questions? Let me know.
