In CS3 you can double click a group of objects to edit text…. that’s nothing new? Or just switch to the Direct Selection Tool – in CS3 this happens automatically already when you double click something in a group.
The layers is just a rehash from Illustrator. It’s a new feature for InDesign, but hardly ground breaking technology. I’ve been doing that in layers for years in Illustrator. I agree though it’s about time InDesign got this feature.
Span Columns, yes sounds very promising. That is a new feature, pretty neat. But word on the grapevine is that it can be slow. I’ll have to hang on and try that out myself.
