On the rare occasions that I have to format type on my laptop, it’s great that the Type palettes in InDesign retract into the sides of the monitor. With the palettes out of the way, I can zoom in a lot closer on my layout to really see what’s going on. It’s even nicer that with these palettes retracted, I still can use the Option flyout menus to apply many type options or to create or refine Styles. So, if I’d like to make a selection ALL CAPS, for instance, I can do so with the Character palette still retracted.
