On2 Technologies Partners with Saver Corporation of Japan to Enable New Flash 8 Mobile Video Applica

On2 Technologies, Inc., today announced that Saver Corporation, the market leader for transcoding technology for mobile phones in Japan, has partnered with On2 to develop the industry’s first online Flash 8 video transcoding service for mobile phone users. As a result of this partnership, Saver Corporation will license On2’s Flix Engine technology for integration into its mini-it EM family of Flash 8 video transcoding servers. Saver’s mini-it EM servers target the rapidly emerging digital media content provider markets, as well as ASP operators and mobile services providers, enabling their mobile phone customers to upload video content to the mini-it EM server to instantly create high quality Flash 8 videos along with other video formats for playout on any Flash-enabled device, mobile phone or personal computer.
