Nicktoons Network Animation Festival – Grand Prize of $10,000; World-Wide Call for Entries Closes May 31, 2006
After two successful festivals and thousands of entries received from around the world, Frederator Studios unites with the Nicktoons Network, the 24-hour animation network owned by Nickelodeon, and Kidscreen Magazine to produce the recently renamed Nicktoons Network Animation Festival. Animators from around the world can submit entries until Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Entry forms can be downloaded at www.nicktoonsnetwork.com.
“We’re thrilled to be involved in the third season of the Festival. We’ve set the bar high, but filmmakers from around the world keep surprising us with more innovative content,” adds Fred Seibert, festival chairman and president of the festival’s production house[kt 1], Frederator Studios.
The Nicktoons Network Animation Festival is on the hunt for a selection of original short films created in any style of animation that do not exceed 10 minutes in length. Submitted shorts will be chosen by a pre-selection jury and will air on Nicktoons Network Aug. 26 through Aug. 31, 2006. Participant also have a chance to win the $10,000 festival grand prize, which will be selected by a grand jury.
Additional festival awards include: Producers’ Choice Award, Student Award, Diversity Award and “Shorties” Award, honoring top submission from a minor. Both the Diversity Award and “Shorties” Award are new to this year’s festival.
The Nicktoons Network Animation Festival will kick off with a two-day live event at the Nicktoons Studios in Burbank, Calif. on Saturday, Aug. 12 and Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006.
