Amateur Photo Contest fundraiser will benefit the 2007 Canon Envirothon
The Canon Envirothon is North America’s largest high school environmental education competition. Teams battle for recognition and scholarships by demonstrating their knowledge of natural resources. They apply their training and problem-solving skills in five subject areas — soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, and a current environmental issue that changes each year. USA and Canadian student teams begin forming at the regional level, winners move on to the state/provincial event, and finally in late July, students participate in the Canon Envirothon, which is hosted by a different state or province each year. The proceeds from the Amateur Photo Contest will help provide supplement funding for the 2007 Canon Envirothon in Geneva, New York. For details about the Canon Envirothon visit the website at www.envirothon.org · Any amateur photographer of any age can participate. · Photos must be taken within the boundaries of the USA or Canada. · Details are available at www.NYSEnvirothon.org. · All proceeds will benefit the 2007 Canon Envirothon held in Geneva, NY July 29, 2007 – August 3, 2007. · Prizes include Canon cameras and winning photos will be professionally framed.
