Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Now Available

November 9, 2006

Adobe® Creative Suite® 2.3 Premium, the newest version of the award-winning Creative Suite enhanced with Adobe Acrobat® 8 Professional and bundled with Dreamweaver 8 is now shipping.

With the introduction of Acrobat 8 Professional, the Creative Suite gives creative and print professionals a new way to efficiently create, collaborate with and automate output of high-quality Adobe PDF files. In addition, the recently released Adobe PDF Print Engine technology being adopted by print OEMs offers printers the first end-to-end native PDF workflow to improve quality and help control costs.

Bundling Dreamweaver® 8 with Creative Suite gives users a convenient way to start the transition to the industry-leading Web design and development tool. Dreamweaver 8 equips users with Web tools that support best practices and broader Web workflows so they can more efficiently design, develop and maintain standards-based Web sites and applications.

Other key benefits of Creative Suite 2.3 include the ability for creative workgroups to easily set up shared reviews with Acrobat 8 Professional so participants can see and respond to each other’s comments as they review. When enabled using Acrobat 8 Professional, Adobe Reader lets users digitally sign documents, complete and submit completed forms, and participate in new server-based reviews, as well as email- and Web-based reviews. Acrobat 8 Professional also introduces the Start Meeting feature with built-in access to Adobe Acrobat Connect (formerly Breeze), a Web conferencing application that supports real-time online collaboration for geographically dispersed creative teams and their clients (available in the U.S. only at ship).

For printers, integrating Acrobat 8 Professional into Creative Suite 2.3 enables them to automatically fix problems identified in PDF files during pre-flight, including hairlines, color space, transparency flattening, and image resolution. Enhanced support for automated JDF workflows enables printers to automatically output and validate PDF files from Adobe InDesign® CS2 software. Tighter integration between Acrobat 8 Professional and other components of Creative Suite 2.3 includes the ability to synchronize color settings, support for transparency flattener presets, and a shared print technology, further enhancing PDF-based workflows. Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional is the first component of the Creative Suite to offer Universal Binary support for the Mac.
