Future versions of Adobe Creative Suite only Intel MacNo PowerPC
I got this in my mail yesterday, and thought it interesting enough to share:
Adobe today confirmed that future versions of Creative Suite will run only on Intel based Mac computers with no support offered for installation on PowerPC based systems. This decision was based upon Apples recent announcement that it is withdrawing support for the PowerPC chip set with its new operating systems, beginning with Mac OS X Snow Leopard (V10.6). With Apples future development focused on Intel Macs, Adobe is aligning its resources accordingly.
Customers are being notified to provide fair notice of any changes regarding the operating systems and hardware supported by Adobe solutions. By announcing these changes now, Adobe customers will have time to plan their migration strategy accordingly.
Those who own Creative Suite 3 and Creative Suite 4 will still be able to use the software on either a PowerPC based Mac or an Intel based Mac and do not have to upgrade their software. However, Adobe will not be developing for this platform other than for critical issues that may arise.

Creating a Classic 3D effect Parallax with Flash CS4
For today, we have a really cool article from Lee Brimelow of The Flash Blog on the concept of Parallax and how one would use it in Flash CS4. Check it out below:
Flash users have been asking for 3D support in Flash for years. Adobe has finally listened to the community and, with the release of Flash CS4, we can now play in that elusive third dimension. In this tutorial, well create a classic 3D effect thats known as parallax. In the past, this type of effect required a large amount of complicated ActionScript to pull off.
If youd like to download the file used in this tutorial to practice these techniques, visit www.layersmagazine.com and navigate to the Magazine section. (All files are for personal use only.)
1 [OPEN THE FLA]
Download the tutorial file from www.layersmagazine.com and open 3D.fla in Flash CS4. The new 3D features are only accessible in Flash CS4 and will also only run in Flash Player 10. The Timeline contains a single layer named back, which contains the artwork for the sky in our scene. In the Library (Window>Library), youll see three movie clips that contain the artwork that well use to build a typical neighborhood scene. Each of these clips will be set in 3D space to achieve the parallax effect.

Guess I have to buy a new computer if I want the next versions of the Creative suite.
