Amazing Great photos! That sunrise was truly beautiful. I was up there with my Panasonic Lumix FZ28 and got some good shots also. I must admit, I’m still learning what it can and can’t do. I think the camera can probably do most things, it’s my learning curve that needs more practice! Shutter lag a little frustrating and fast focus or me often not fast enough, but learning. Will be looking for articles by you. Oh yes, I lucked out and got two American Krestels on the same branch that day……needless to say was thrilled. ……………..Thanks for sharing great shots!!

Focusing is often faster on compact cameras than DSLRs with consumer-grade lenses. On the point-and-shoots that i’ve used, the depth of field is so large that the amount of focus needed is minimal for typical shots.

I never use .RAW…
But the truth is fantastic photos does not depends on camera, but photographer eyes…

One thing that I will add is that since I got my G10 I take about 100X more pictures everyday than I did with my SLR. So t makes an excellent learning tool and taking lots of thoughtful pictures is the way for a newbie like me to get better. I’m able to take my G10 with me everywhere and take lots of photos everyday.
