Good Morning everybody! Lets go ahead and start the morning off on broken glass.

Jay Schuh – Shattered Glass Effect
As much as I tried to avoid any references to walking on broken glass, they just kept popping up on me. I’ll keep them to myself though. Let’s let Jay do the talking here while he talks about how to use AE to simulate a baseball going through a pane of glass. Click on the link below to get to the tutorial.

Photoshop World- What i’m Teaching
I was sitting here reading up on Scott Kelby’s recent post on his website, where he talks about the type of classes that he is teaching at Photoshop World, this coming March 25-27. I thought to myself, “You know, this is a cool idea- let me tell you what I am covering at the conference.”

I do a lot of work on Photography, and I use Photoshop and Lightroom on a daily basis. However, I almost always approach things from a different take, and that’s the web. The more and more I get out there to talk to people about putting stuff on the web, the more people talk about not knowing where to begin with making a website. That bothers me because I look at it and say to myself “You know, it’s really not as hard as it seems”

My first two classes deal with just that:

Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Lightroom: Wed 10:45 – After the Keynote
In this class, I’m going over how to take a design that you’ve setup in Dreamweaver, and place it into a Dreamweaver website. We’ll build a series of templates in Dreamweaver, and then add a Flash gallery in there to showcase some work. The focus here is not just to teach a little bit of Dreamweaver, or a little bit of Photoshop, but to teach how you could put the two together to setup a web layout.

Building Online Photo Galleries- Wed – 12:00PM
How many of you know how to implement an API in Flash? OK, well sit down, this one isnt for you. Here’s the deal: So much of building an online gallery is Flash based – but lets be frank – Flash has made it increasingly difficult for the average joe to get out there and build some form of gallery or experience on the web. In this class, what I do is talk about how to use the things that area already out there. We use things like web widgets, access to the photoshop.com service, flickr, Lightroom and Photoshop web galleries, as well as Flash components from places like Digicrafts Components . All of this is built and talked about from a framework of how to add it inside of your own look and feel in Dreamweaver CS4. This way, it doesnt matter if you use Simpleviewer. At least your stuff doesnt look like everyone else’s out there.

Top 10 Things You Should Know in Photoshop – Thurs 9:30am
If you’ve ever found yourself nodding away at someone talking about Adjustment layers or droplets, and you had no idea of what they were talking about, this is a class for you. In here, we’re going to cover 10 things that you should know in Photoshop – explain them pretty plainly, and show an example of how we can use this. If you don’t know the 10, you’ll walk away with an understanding of the concept. If you know some of the 10, then you will round out your experience. If you know all of them? You’ll still walk away with something as you’ll be able to have another way to present some of the most common things used in Photoshop.
