Its Photowalk Time!!!!screensnapz
Happy Monday everyone. This event is something that I think is very near and dear to me, so I was happy that it was being announced and was looking forward to seeing as many people participate. Scott Kelby is putting out his second annual Worldwide Photo Walk together on July 18, 2009. Basically, a Photo Walk is a free event where photo enthusiasts get together and walk around a pre-determined area taking pictures of the area. Afterwards, everyone goes dutch on some food and shares their pictures.

Probably one of the best things that I love about this is the community aspect of it. Here are a bunch of people that are coming together to shoot and hang out, learn from one another.. and just enjoy the company. You get some grub, you get some pointers.. and you could walk away with a great shot. (The image in the “Is Photo Art” blog post was taken during a Photo Walk).

Now, there are prizes out there to be had as well, so what I’d do is recommend you guys check out the Worldwide Photo Walk website, and sign up. With over 183 cities available, I think you guys are going to have more than enough picks to get that image out there. Also keep in mind, this isnt just limited to DSLR’s out there.. any camera will do! Matter fact, Last time I did a Photo Walk in Clearwater I had a couple of people using their cell phone cameras to take pictures. DSLR, Camera Phones, Point and Shoots, you are all welcome! I’m going to be doing the Dunedin, FL area.. starting by the boat dock. I am thinking my photo walk a little later – probably around 5:30-5:45 to see if we can take advantage of some late day sun. Hope you’ll join me there!

Hi RC. Will you think about moving up the start time of the walk to around 4:30pm? That would allow some time after dinner to get one of those killer sunsets over the Dunedin Harbor. Just a thought…….
