If you haven’t noticed, we just finished launching a new redesign of the magazine, starting with this month’s issue. I’m very excited because I get to talk to you about Soundbooth and Audition CS3 – what can I say, I’m a sound guy at heart. Anyway, the redesign focuses on highlighting a specific artist throughout the magazine, and this month, it was the super-artist Matt Haley. Matt’s the guy responsible for the creation of the graphics in both seasons of Stan Lee’s “Who Wants to Be a Superhero” on SciFi Channel. If you look at the mag, you’ll notice his artwork is spread throughout the piece, and it does add a bit of flair, if I may say so.

How cool was it then when I found out that we can give you guys a web Q&A session with Matt! Check out the link here to get a cool background on his work and his workflow. A cool read.

This week on Layers TV I’m going to expand a little bit on Corey’s animation in Flash by creating a Flash file that loads external SWF files. I’ve been reading the comments that have been coming into the sites and one of the things that you’ve written back about is the use of Flash and how to take it a little past a regular animation.
