Hey everyone. How about starting the day on a money-draining note, shall we?
Nikon D700 Info Released To The Wild
Coming hot on the heels of the groundbreaking D3, you would think Nikon would just sit and revel in the fact that everyone is drooling over the new camera – but noooo. They can’t leave well enough alone, can they.
The Nikon D300 is an amazing camera, but the high ISO has left plenty a D300 owner (including yours truly) on the wishing well of the D3. I look in the well and say, “Some day, little buddy.. some day.. ”
Imagine now, taking a D300 and throwing the FX sensor in it — presto! Enter the Nikon D700. This would normally have me running to pitch the tent and wait for the doors to open over at B&H, but there were a couple of things that made me stop in my tracks:
• Yes, it does have the High ISO, but the viewfinder is only showing 95%, unlike the 100% view on the D3
• It’s going to be about 4 Grand!
• You don’t get the dual card slot like with the D3
With that much outlay, I think about just sitting and waiting to save a couple of dollars more and getting the real deal D3. Still, all in all, I’m sure I will be drooling over the D700 soon enough. I wouldn’t toss it to the curb if it showed up in a box.. addressed to me.. like.. tomorrow..
