New Contest: How CS4 Saved The Day
Welcome back everyone! For this week, I am starting our usual “Layers Blog” contest tomorrow because I really want you guys to focus on this NEW contest that we have cooking up that I think you’ll really be into. The contest is called “How Photoshop CS4 Saved The Day”, and the rules are pretty simple. Check it out below:

“..We want to hear from you how Adobe® Photoshop® CS4 saved the day. [Insert soundtrack of Mighty Mouse theme song.] And we want to give away cool stuff. LOTS of cool stuff. (We want a lot.)

So here’s the deal ….

Tell us about a time you were in a jam — perhaps a project was tanking faster than the Titanic or it was on you to wow a client back into the fold — and you used Photoshop CS4 to pull through. We want to know about it. Basically, we’re looking for creative solutions to everyday challenges. You know … all those “I pulled it off again!” victories you get from working in a creative industry.

Who Can Participate
This one’s easy: ANYONE. Designers, photographers, videographers, educators, artists, students, enthusiasts, people whose birthdays are in August … You get the idea. We’ll even consider entries from CS3 users. See Complete Rules

How to Enter
Write a brief success story (no more than 250 words) of how Photoshop CS4 helped save the day and upload it — along with a screenshot of your success — to Acrobat.com. Alternatively, you can create a video and post it on a video sharing site like YouTube.com. Or you can post it on your blog, if you’d like. All we need is a link to wherever your story is. (Just please don’t email them to us or send them snail mail.)

Deadlines
The competition opens on August 3 and closes at 11:59 PM EST on September 18, 2009. Weekly deadlines will be each Friday at 11:59 PM EST.

Weekly Winners
There will be six weekly winners who will receive a copy of Lightroom 2, Adobe 18-1 Card Reader, 8GB USB Drive, and a three-year subscription to Layers magazine. You will also be featured in a Layers magazine article and on the website, as well as the Adobe website.

Grand Prize Winner
There will be one grand prize winner who will receive the Adobe® Creative Suite® Design Premium or Web Premium (or equivalent value).

They will also receive a complimentary pass to Photoshop World Conference & Expo, a one-year subscription to Kelby Training’s Online Training, and $250 of books or DVDs from Kelby Training.

All winners will be notified by email. The Grand Prize winner will also receive special recognition at Photoshop World in Vegas on October 1 during the opening ceremony.
