Peachpit: Neon In Your Neighborhood
Hey everyone. I saw this come up on the Peachpit Twitter account and I thought it was really cool to share. Peachpit’s gone out and teamed with two of my favorite photographers- David Duchemin and Chris Orwig and setup a contest on shooting neon in your neighborhood! Twenty winners of this competition will be selected and they will be shuttled out from the Photoshop World conference out to the Neon Boneyard for an early AM shoot! This is one place i’ve always wanted to go; it’s just a cool place to check out!

Now, obviously I understand that there will be some of you who aren’t going to Photoshop World – and that’s totally cool! While it may not be something that you get to do, I say you should still be inspired to go out and try to shoot some cool neon. They setup a Flickr group for it; i’d go check out what the people who are going are submitting! I for one am going to dust off the camera and go see if I can shoot some neon signs of the Pepsi Cola sign in Queens as I head out to NY this afternoon for a few days. I think of it as my way to contribute.

Prototyping and Creating AIR Applications with Adobe Fireworks, Part 1
This week, Tom Green takes us through the process of how to create a quick comp of an AIR app using Adobe Fireworks. Recently i’ve been working on using Fireworks to create comps that I can send around, and I have to say the process is pretty painless. Click on the link below to check out the tutorial:
