Good morning everyone. Wanted to share with you this morning a couple of things that just plain rock.
Fireworks Teaser 6-10 Posted
We’ve posted Fireworks tutorials 6-10 which give you a very basic understanding of the power of Fireworks. It really is cool stuff — the UI updates, the smart/efficient placement of things, the control. These are just a few of my fav things when it comes to designing stuff.. so it’s great to be able to play with them. Remember kids, you can still download Fireworks CS4 as a beta on the Adobe Labs Website.

Voodoo Envy 133
Straddling the fence between PC and Mac can sometimes be a hard thing to do. Sitting in the middle does get a little harder when you look at something like the Voodoo Envy 133. This is a carbon fiber 13.3” 1280×800 machine that weighs in at 3.73lbs. The things that I am looking for the most are portability and power. If it’s small enough, I can see myself designing a site, shooting tethered, and I’d be willing to sacrifice a little desktop real estate for that.
I’ve personally owned quite a bit of Sony laptops in the last couple of years, and tricking out their SZ carbon fiber has been one of the things on my short list – it’ll be interesting to see how the Envy shapes up. If I get it and play around with it, you’ll be the first to know.
Drobo Goes Firewire!!!
We’ve had Drobo in house for a while now, and I have to say, these guys really do make a great storage solution. I’ve remained a holdout on having one because of the USB2.0 solution- I’ve always just thought that it wasn’t fast enough for what I wanted IMO. That, however, changed completely with the new Drobo with FireWire 800. This model is promising to be quieter and faster than previous models. This is something that I am very, very interested in checking out. Add to this things like Droboshare and DroboApps and you are stylin!
OK.. enough fanboy for today. Check out those 5 videos. That’ll keep you busy. See you tomorrow morning!

It‘s quiet in here! Why not leave a response?
