Anyone out there catching it? Just wondering since we have a national and international forum how bad it is.
It hit our household of 7. The doctor confirmed one and said us others having the same symptoms likely have it. The 4 year old, the 19 year old and ME . Not too bad, just a lot of headache and tiredness. Some sleepless nights, high fevers, sore throat, cold and sinuses stuff too. Hope you're all staying well! |

Working too hard means that the imune system is weakened :S
Well trying to take things slowly. Hope you get back to full strength soon.

I've been ill since last friday. Sore throat mainly, bit of a chesty cough. Many sleepless nights, got a honey Propolis Herbal Elixir from the pharmacy, it's doing wonders.
Not that what I'm taking is good for H1N1 which I don't have by the way. Sore throat, the honey helps to coat the throat. Sleepless nights, due to cough reflex when in the laying position and throat wanting to be moisturised. So I couldn't sleep for about 3 days. I was like a zombie on the 3rd day. |

Thanks Lukas and GuyB. This is really one of milder flues I've had, just that it's hanging on forever, 3rd week so far. I guess we have a mild strain up here. It's surprising it is actually H1n1 see below for the Center for Disease and Control guidelines.
Yes, we've been trying honey and it does work pretty good! Hope you're feeling better Eugene. http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/sick.htm How do I know if I have the flu? You may have the flu if you have some or all of these symptoms: fever * cough sore throat runny or stuffy nose body aches headache chills fatigue sometimes diarrhea and vomiting *It’s important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever. |

To all those who have had the flu, H1N1 or not, I wish you good health and that you get well ASAP.
I was miserable the last week and a half. Had all the symptoms you just listed. I was not tested to see if it was H1N1... I think the whole H1N1 is nothing but the child of political agenda coupled with what passes for the over-sensationalized "News" these days. The flu I had was no different than any of the countless other flu spells I have had over the years. I can't say it was light, however I have endured worse. I do hope anyone who does get the flu, takes their meds, get's plenty of rest and in a week or so is no worse for the wear. Having known someome close who has unexpectedly died from the flu, I don't exactly take ANY flu lightly. If you think for any reason your symptoms have deviated from the norm, do yourself a favor and go see a doctor. |

Well we're still down for the count. Just keep getting fevers back and staying weak, coughing up a storm. Been to the doctor but this is really hanging on. Course we had our summer go from boiling hot to really cold overnight and that's when everyone got sick around here. We were actually at the beach swimming one day and the next day it was like 40.

People eat antibiotics like they're M&Ms for everything from the common cold to sciatica. We've lowered our immune systems to such a point where our kids are susceptible to everything from peanut butter to a nasty flu.

I keep a clean house, but I don't get crazy. My kids keep clean, but not excessively. There are no anti-bacterial products in the house, no hand sanitizers. And oddly enough, my kids are alergy free and realtively healthy. They get sick no more often than I remember being sick as as child, if anything they are sick less. And while I did not mean to imply that H1N1 is not a serious illness, I just don't think it's much worse than the "regular" flu, which also is responsible for an alarming number of deaths every year. Yet amazing that the two do not recieve equal press coverage. |

Well I'm FINALLY feeling half way normal again but the rest of the house is still struggling with it. I'm amazed at how this hangs on forever. Just glad to be able to sleep the last couple of nights. The news confirmed a case of a cat catching it from humans, so now I have to keep an eye on the cat!
