Why do I need my posts approved?

Could it be something related to the fact that the cookies have been erased ? When I occasionnaly make a clean-up in my Mac, I erase all the cookies, caches, etc, related to Internet. When I come back to the forum, I need to enter my username and password again and, usually, everything is o.k. But has there been changes to the forum's software recently that might cause this kind of behaviour after a user has erased his cookies ?
