Premiere ProUse CS3 integration to create falling snow over an image of cedar trees. Use After Effects to create the falling snow, then export the effect as a Flash video and drop it on top of the image. Experiment with blending modes to get some creative results

Nice quick tip, thanks! Would it have been easier/possible to change things a bit in AfterEffects and encode the transparency channel?

Yes you can but the question is :Why? You would need to output the QT, then encode the FLV and then heave the video into an FLVPlayback component or a video object. A lot more work and I am your basic lazy guy:-)
is there a way to download your tutorials and save them on my hard drive? There is just so much good stuff here I can remeber it all. I want to build a refrence library of tuts so I can go to them when I am working on a project. Great stuff thank you for the awesome tips

My only thought that I’d want to do it the way I suggested if I was targeting a specific version of the Flash Player (maybe 7, for example) that supported Flash Video, but not blend modes. Otherwise, I’d agree that your way is more straightforward.

Why couldn’t U do the whole thing in After Effects then make a FLV from that.
Also if People want a ref. library they should just sign up for Kelby training and get the vidioes ya it cost but these guys have to make money to live right.

it seems to work nicely
except its really lagging up my flash animation
the audio is out of synch and it wont play at the proper speed. Ive tried a bunch of different settings and whatnot..
any suggestions?

NewB here… I was going crazy trying to get snow falling ontop of a Christmas Card till I saw this Tut…Awesome!!. I’m using the CS4 Master Suite, so there was a few differences, but got it… Is there a way or formula to get the snow to loop without such a noticeable switch in snowflake positions, or should I just make the snow vid 40 secs long or so as i need in my movie?
Co0uple of ways of doing it, Lou.
You can increase the number of snowflakes.
Extend out to the duration of the Flash movie.
Play with the Filter Settings to get it as seamless as possible.
This is great! im just a beginer of this tools…so 1 question….is it easy to create some confetti effect falling from the roof ‘? i’d be exactly like this effect but using many colors and textures, instead snow, i guess…. any ideas?

I followed the tutorial, but when I went to export, it said that the export failed as there wasn’t sufficient data to export…any suggestions?
