bloglines

I love Bloglines. And I’ll tell you why.

Simply put, Bloglines lets me manage all of the blogs that I check every day. It puts them in one space and lets me just go there to see if anything new has posted. I remember when I used to spend an hour of my morning sitting at the computer, visiting each blog and saying, “OK, let’s see if so-and-so posted, Nope”. This way, I can quickly scan who’s done what, and where I need to read. I was thinking about that this morning as I was bouncing around all of these different websites.

I like starting my day on a creative note, jumping out there and looking at great photography or design, and saying to myself, “Let me see if I can get close to that today.” A few days ago, I was going through Scott Kelby’s slideshow of pics that he took at the Bucs game. I noticed that the Bucs’ team photographer, Paul Abell, was helping out with some of the comments on Scott’s site- so I went and checked out Paul’s site.

Yup.. that’s definitely one to add to the inspiration pile.

Who else am I really into now? I love David Ziser at Digital Pro Talk. There’s tons of cool information and inspiration. Joe McNally consistently blows me away, no matter how many times I check out his stuff. In fact, he just finished a book called The Moment it Clicks. That book should be on your shortlist.

Laurie Excell is a wonderful outdoor photographer that just soothes me with her landscape work. She does photo tours, and I’m sure we will be spending tons of time to get out there and talk about those!

I hope you’re inspired now to go create something. If you want my recommendation; I’d fire up Dreamweaver and check out Janine Warner’s tutorial on how to use Spry Collapsible panels. It’s easier than you think – and she just rocks.

Hey RC, I just discovered Bloglines and I agree, this app is great for all my frequently visited blogs all in one page. No crazy tabs open all over the place.

I just checked out David Zisers blog and was floored by some of his images.

Thanks for all your hard work and the introduction to Layers TV. You and Corey do an awesome job every week!

    Mike

I love Google Reader. It’s very basic, and when you have gmail its configured in a view seconds I think.
