A little late, but never too late to say congrats to David Hobby over at The Strobist. Playing around on the Internets yesterday, I noticed that he had won 2 awards over at the 2008 Weblog awards. The Strobist was tops in 2008 in both “Best Photo Website” as well as “Best Online Community”, so a big hat’s off to him. It really is a great place to check out lighting and take your flash to the next level.
While we’re on the subject of light, we have the famed Joe McNally here in our studios doing a little video for his next online class for Kelby Training, so make sure you get caught up online. It really does add to your working portfolio when you can master those little SB800s.
Slicing in Photoshop to Dreamweaver
Geoff Blake has got a cool tutorial on taking slicing from Photoshop and placing it in Dreamweaver. Make sure you check out the tutorial at the link below.
Geoff Blake – From Photoshop to Dreamweaver
Contest Winner
A congratulations going out to Damian Kiesling for winning this week’s Layers TV contest. Make sure you are watching and tuning in!
So thats it for me! Got to keep getting things ready for Photoshop World – make sure you’re stopping by that site as well. See you tomorrow!

Thanks, RC!
(You’ll notice I did not get nominated for best web design, or HTML coding which actually be read by other humans. That’d be your depoartment!)

RC,
It cracked me up that you went out to the Behr color site for inspiration on this week’s Layers TV.
As far back as 2005, when I started teaching color theory in junior college, I’ve been referring students to paint companies’ color sites.
Back then, because of the limitations with Rich Apps and internet speeds, the most they could do was try to teach people about the “standard” color wheel and color combinations.
But, I thought it was funny that you consider using those sites as a kind of “cheap shortcut”, when us designers have been using paint companies, their sites, AND their printed literature for years!
Keep up the good work, man.
